Planning

A business plan may be needed either for a start up business loan, or to help an existing business grow. It can either be for an individual, or group i.e. income generating project. The benefit of formulating a business plan is that it ensures that the individual / group has complete understanding of their business and the various questions that they need to have answers to.  It will also highlight any areas (of the business) which needs to be addressed, due to a lack of knowledge.

The detail needed in a business plan for a $100 business, is very different to that needed for $100,000 business!  However, whatever the size of the business, each business plan must have the same essentials:

  1. Summary
  2. Core business activities
  3. List main customers, competitors and suppliers
  4. Reason for needing a loan / grant
  5. Plans for using the loan / grant
  6. Sales, costs and profit projections
  7. Future plans for the business.

BFA has three levels of business plan:  A 2 page template for a micro business, a 6 page plan for a MSME and a 30+ page advanced business plan for a SME + sized business.

BFA can help you develop a business plan / feasibility study, whatever size of business / organisation you have and for whatever type of reader i.e. MFI, bank, investor, donor etc.  Each business plan will show full commercial viability, operations sales forecast etc.  which will help you either access a loan from a financial institution, or explore new business opportunities.
